Arlington is a county-town that lies just beside of D.C. and thus is a major part of the metro area, especially as the location of the National Cemetery and the Pentagon. (1997)

Arington’s most famous memorial is of course the US Marine Corps commemorating the battle of Iwo Jima

During my first visit to D.C., we happened to visit Arlington Cemetery just after it had been freshly blanketed in white
