I know I was in Pigeon Forge once as a kid many years ago but nothing in that prepared me and my family for the shock of going from a quiet night drive through the Tennessee Mountains into a sudden flash of neon lights and arcades and theme-park architecture that has become the hallmark of the once tiny town. Home of Dollywood, Pigeon Forge has definitely become an oddity in the Tennessee hills. (2022)
Themed museums in flashy buildings like these have become the norm along the main strip of Pigeon forge. My family did enjoy our visit to the Titanic Museum, however, with its re-creations of various parts of the ship and kid friendly exhibits.
You can still find a little bit of old Pigeon Forge amongst the glitz including its signature old mill from the 1830s on the Little Pigeon River.
