I really like the suburb town of Matthews which is right beside the area of Charlotte where my friends live. You can find all the familiar places you want to eat in malls around the outskirts but its refurbished railroad hub downtown is the place full of charm. It has lots of small shops and restaurants (and our favorite ice cream places!) and is just pleasant for an afternoon stroll around. (2022, 2024, 2025)

The small park in the middle of the downtown is also a nice place for a leisurely stroll and view of the memorial to Matthews’ veterans
Central Avenue has become the hipster area of bars and restaurants as well as old homes refurbished and put to eclectic uses
