Linked closely with Boone and other of the small mountains towns of the North Carolina High Country, Blowing Rock gets its name from its windswept ridge that overlooks the Smokies. Moses Cone Memorial Park is a huge expanse that was once the personal property of immigrant industrialist Moses Cone and now is a gigantic park with carriage trails, lakes, and his original ‘summer home’ seen here.
The Blue Ridge Parkway Runs through the area of course offering some nice views as well
