Right on the banks of Lake Michigan and the channel to the Grand River, Grand Haven is a small old town that has been kept in very good condition and is not only a primary spot along the long stretch of Michigan beach but also has the designation of being the original “Coast Guard City USA”. (2016)
The signature sight of Grand Haven is its bright red set of century old lighthouses out on the pier and catwalk.
The downtown of Grand Haven is a beautiful old set of refurbished buildings and old homes.
The free Tri-Cities museum contains reminders of the Native traditions of the area.
