LaGrange is a town in Troup County not too far from the Alabama border. It has an extremely well kept up old town square as well as a number of historic districts and old homes that are readily accessible. It also sits near the large reservoir of West Point Lake where some friends and I have enjoyed going for fishing. (2020, 2026)
The lovely fountain right in the middle of the town square is topped with a statue of Lafayette
There are historic antebellum homes throughout LaGrange, one well-known example being the Bellevue Mansion seen here
The crisply clean art deco Troup County Courthouse
Around the historic downtown are things like the LaGrange Art Museum and a fountain with a town clock.
LaGrange has a wonderful county recreation area called Pyne Road Park that is on West Point Lake. It has camping and boat launches or is simply a nice place to sit on the bank fishing.
