Juliette, GA
This campground site and day use area on the large Lake Juliette reservoir is not fully a state park in its own right but is rather under the management of nearby High Falls State Park. There are thus not many facilities except the main camp area (which requires a reservation to access its large pavilion and multiple RV sites along several nooks on the lake). Still, the small day-use boat launch area seems very popular since they appear to be less restrictive about letting people get in and swim all along the shoreline.
Kayaking on Lake Juliette (3600 acres)
Lake Juliette itself is enormous, created and maintained by GA Power for its large coal-based power factory on the shore. The water is surprisingly clear giving it a wonderful blue hue. Paddling out, you can access many other areas along the shore outside the campground not under the park system where people are out hiking, fishing, and rope-swinging into the lake. Of course, the area is so big I barely ventured beyond one small end of the giant body of water.
