A TRAVEL EXPERIENCE IN JOURNAL AND PHOTOS
Lokichoggio: 8/6/03

8/6/03: “We arrived safely at Lokichoggio and it’s absolutely amazing. The place is surrounded by rocky mountains and long bush covered plains. Even better are all the local people nearby living in traditional huts, old men goat-herding wearing their traditional wrap cloths with sticks and carry their ‘sitting stool’. Add the bright sun and high temperature and you can see that it feels like we’re in the real heart of East Africa…”

“We had one amazing ride to Kakuma—there were mountains all around, pastorlist Turkana herding goats and cattle, villages of huts, camels and other wild animals, big termite mounds, women carrying water with elaborate neck pieces on, and pretty much everything else you would expect.”
