A week-end trip up into Normandy took us to Bayeux where we stayed in a great hostel (incredible meals!). The city itself has lots of old architecture as well as boasting its 900 year-old, story-telling tapestry. (1996)
The wonderful old stone buildings and canals of Bayeux are rustic and perfectly evocative of the Normandy region
The cathedral at Bayeux has a wonderful vaulted ceiling. We even got the chance to catch the end of mass when we visited.
In recognition of his role in liberating the country, Bayeux has a large memorial to General Eisenhower
The oldest house in Bayeux definitely evokes another time as it dates back to the 13th century
