Chenonceau is known for its elegant castle stretching across the Cher River. There is very little outside of the huge castle grounds, the small town being just a very few buildings. (2007)

The small village of Chenonceau is dwarfed by its large castle. There are just a few buildings and this very typical country church which happens to have been where Catherine de Medici was christened
