The castle at Angers is a great example of a “fortress-castle” with its solid walls and ramparts. Its unique black and white exterior make it a favorite site on the Loire as does the massive tapestry of Revelation housed there. Meanwhile the city of Angers itself is fairly large with a big cathedral and several other notable buildings. (2007)
