I was amazed at the “blueness” of the Mediterranean when we arrived in Nice for a few days. The sky and water were amazingly bright and clear. Nice itself was very Mediterranean in its style and architecture, lots of narrow roads and colorful buildings. (1996)

A view of the main beach at Nice and the palms that line it.

Nice is full of cafes and restaurants for people to sit out and enjoy the sunshine
From our hostel up on the hill, we had a great view of Nice’s beach on the Mediterranean.

Along the beachfront of Nice are several promenades or boardwalks. Here I am on the “Promenade des Anglais”.
