Lans-En-Vercors is a mountain ski village in the Vercors Massif, a large granite mountain chain above Grenoble and part of the Parc Natural Regional du Vercors nature preservation area. My friend and his family relocated to Lans-En-Vercors from Paris and it is definitely a quite different lifestyle, slower and full of outdoor activities. In addition to slopes visited by tourists, the town lies right by the Moliere Plateau offering amazing mountain views. (2011, 2020)

The village of Lans-En-Vercors itself is rather small.
Lans-En-Vercors and the other villages around it are popular ski vacation spot for a lot of European families. Just prior to my second visit, the ski resort area was purchased by French-American NBA star Tony Parker so several people asked if I was there as part of his group!
