Though I never studied the language, I have had the chance to make many friends from Germany in various locations over the years–fellow exchange students in Paris, colleagues in Canada, fellow church members in Atlanta. I have been fortunate to be invited to visit many of them back in their home country and thus have gotten to visit a lot of places, particularly in the Batten-Wurttemburg region.
