Tucked inside an area of the right bank where the Seine takes a sharp curve, the 16th and 17th arrondissements are known to be quite wealthy and business oriented.

The Palace of Chaillot at Trocadero is an impressive sight and its esplanade gives wonderful views back to the Eiffel Tower across the Seine. Inside the old palace are a theater and museums including the Musee de l’Homme (2003/2011)

The 16th also includes the entrance to Pont de l’Alma under which lies the tunnel where Princess Diana died. Though there long before the tragic car crash, the Flame of Liberty above has become an unofficial memorial and the square rechristened as Place Diana (2004)
Paris’s westerly large forest park is the Bois de Bologne full of popular trails and lakes as well as site of the French Open each year (2004)
