Arrondissements 9, 10, 11, and 12 are the further out rive droite districts that contain a lot of business centers, theaters, and the busiest train stations in Europe. The 12th also reaches out east into some of Paris’s most popular green space including the Bois de Vincennes.

Xe Arrondissement

The Porte de St. Denis is a 17th century monument marking the location of the old medieval gateway through the city walls (2020)
In the 10th are Paris’s two busiest train stations–Gare du Nord (seen here) and Gare de l’Est (2020)

11e Arrondissement

At the far corner of the 11th is the famous Colonne de Juillet (July Column) marking the location of the infamous Bastille prison and the French revolution that started there. The large Place de La Bastille where it is located is shared with other arrondissements and you can see the modern Opera Bastille in the 12th behind (2004)

The Viaduc des Arts is an old railway bridge that has been converted into popular space for art galleries and workshops (2011)
The Promenade Plantee (more formally known as the Coulée verte René-Dumont ) is a large tree-lined trail along the old railroad through both residential and forested gardens that is extremely popular with runners (2011)



The Bois de Vincennes is a large park that with lakes, botanical gardens, picnic areas, and the Paris zoo (1996)
