Reims is a principal city of the Champagne region of France. It is famous for its large cathedral (wonderfully restored after near destruction in the First World War) where Clovis was baptized, its sweet ‘pink cookies’, and the many champagne houses that operate there. (2020)
Some of the stone work of Notre Dame de Reims Cathedral is quite amazingly intricate but most interesting to me were the ‘gargoyles’ which are actually fashioned after farm animals!
Next to the cathedral is the Palais de Tau which houses a lot of historic memorabilia as well as the treasury of the church

Reims is in the heart of the Champagne region and is the location of the many famous brands. There are also reminders in the architecture of the city of this important economy
There is Roman history in Reims too–most notably here at the Porte de Mars
